Hey everyone! I'm Jewel Baker and CEO of Jewel in Focus from Chicago, IL. Along with being an entrepreneur,
I am currently a full-time student at Columbia College Chicago, majoring in Film & Television and minoring in photography. I hope to become the next Ava DuVernay in the future...literally. My journey began at 9 years old when learning about film and journalism. This background allowed me to interview politicians in Chicago such as Toni Preckwinkle, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Former Governor Pat Quinn. Also, some well-known artists such as Chaka Khan, T.I, and Jacob Latimore.
Over the years, I grew a stronger passion for photography and videography, and in June 2018, I began my company. My goal continues to provide and capture your unforgettable moments such as Birthdays, Graduations, Prom, Family Shoots, Videography, Flyer Designs, and more! Booking your first photo or video shoot? Not too comfortable being in front of the camera? Trust me, you're on the right website! I love working with clients who may be a little bit shy. Trust me, you will get a fantastic set of photos or videos once the shoot is complete.
Get to know me
I participated in Tae Kwon Do starting at 9 years old and competed in a Nationals tournament located in Atlanta in 2016
I began Ballroom dancing at 9 years old as well and have loved it ever since!
You can find me in front of the camera on Amazon Prime in a show called"The College Tour" in February 2022 which focuses on my academic experience at Columbia. Stay tuned!
I have an amazing dog named Zoey who's a Shorkie, Shih Tzu mixed with a yorkie. #dogmom!

HELLO EVERYONE!
Hello everyone! I'm Melanie Baker and manager of Jewel in Focus, I'm also Jewel's mom. I attended North Central College and UCLA, but love being a part of the company with my daughter. One of my degrees from UCLA is MA Latin American Studies meaning I know a bit of Spanish for any Spanish speakers looking to book with us!

As Jewel grew up, her dad and I invested in her attending Film programs, working on sets, and eventually purchasing her camera. She's an amazing person, not just because she's my daughter, and will ensure you have an enjoyable experience at your next shoot or event.
I love to travel and love to cook! My favorite recipe to make is the classic Spaghetti

our studio
In our impressive studio, all shoots incorporating a backdrop are less than 10 minutes away from the iconic McCormick Place and Wintrust Arena in Chicago, IL. We are also in the Chinatown neighborhood, which has fantastic culture, food, and good sights to see. We have a great brick wall and natural light peaking in from the windows inside our studio. Throughout your shoot, you will be able to view the amazing Chicago River. We also have FREE parking available to all clients.

With your shoot, we have a variety of colors to select from. Each shoot includes one color backdrop. Each additional color added will be an additional charge.
All props will be available for your shoot, FREE of charge, and we will finalize it during your zoom meeting consultation. Here are the following items available:
